Our Worship
Praise the Lord! How good it is to sing praises to our God! For he is gracious, and a song of praise is fitting. (Psalm 147:1)
St. George’s is committed to:
- Achieving a high level of reverence, energy, quality and meaning in worship,
- Maintaining treasured and familiar parish traditions and
- Discovering new possibilities within them
Weekly Worship
We use various official liturgies of the Anglican Church of Canada. Each Sunday morning there is a service of worship at 10:30. This 10:30 service alternates between the two liturgical rites found in the Book of Alternative Services (p.185 and p.230), along with Morning Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer. The worship is reverent but joyful. Worship at St. George’s is supported by choral and organ music in the English Cathedral style.

Special Services
Certain services throughout the year have unique and spiritually rewarding features. Our most notable event is the Festival of Nine Lessons and Carols held on a Sunday evening before Christmas. Also, at Christmas the children of the Sunday School present a Nativity Pageant. Other memorable occasions include the visit of the Scouts and Guides (some years) in February, the penitential service on Ash Wednesday, the washing of feet on Maundy Thursday, multi-generational Good Friday liturgies, Ascension Day Liturgy, Choral Evensong about four times per year – to name just a few.
