West Broadway Community Ministry
Each Day We Pray for an End to Hunger, Homelessness and Loneliness

In November 1999 St George’s Church signed a covenant with West Broadway Community Ministry in which it was promised to respond to their needs by volunteering time, and the sharing of accounting and management skills. Every Sunday food is brought to the church, blessed, and then delivered to West Broadway. Three thousand lunches a year are served at this drop-in centre. Parishioners serve on the Board of West Broadway, and assist with seniors’ projects including a weekly breakfast served at All Saints’ Church to as many as 30 seniors from the core area of Winnipeg. In 2003 a parishioner made a memorial donation of $25,000 to St George’s and agreed that it be used to benefit West Broadway Community Ministry over five years

The Diocese of Central Buganda, Uganda
A Spiritual Loving Encounter

On first January 1996 the Diocese of Central Buganda and The Diocese of Rupert’s Land signed a Companion Diocese Covenant, for five years, which was renewed for another five years in 2002. In this Covenant we agreed to share knowledge, including video tapes, and links between women’s, men’s and youth groups. St George’s has played an active role in this Covenant, particularly with its assistance to the Ndoddo Parish. Click here for Reaching Out to Africa

Anglican Fellowship of Prayer
Prayers on Request

For Where Two or Three are Gathered in my Name,
I am There Among Them.
Matthew, Chapter 18, Verse 20

Do you need personal prayer support? Where can you go? St George’s itself is a house of prayer. In addition, the office of the Anglican Fellowship of Prayer is in St George’s, just inside the Wilton Street Door. Here prayer support is offered on an hour prayer request line,475 5942 or phone Heather Birtles 255 8128. Requests (first name only) are fanned out to other parishes for a one or three-months’ prayer period. The office is staffed by a volunteer, each morning five days a week with prayer offered daily. There are also two “prayer quads” that pray daily for the needs of St George’s. Prayer is one of the elements linking our Anglican Communion together.
