PARISH SUMMARY

ABOUT ST. GEORGE’S ANGLICAN CHURCH, CRESCENTWOOD

OUR MISSION

We are a people responding to Christ’s call to love one another by accepting, welcoming and serving everyone.

Parish Summary

St. George’s provides a home for Winnipeg Anglicans who enjoy traditional Anglican worship and choral music paired with current theological teachings. As a socially conscious, LGBTQ+ supportive parish, we strive to serve those in need through various inner-city outreach programs and support for our partner parish in Uganda. Our Modernist worship space sits in a relatively affluent residential area in the city. Historically, we drew people from the immediate area, but now our congregation resides in multiple neighbourhoods. Our parish consists of dedicated parishioners who are mentally and spiritually engaged. Although their numbers are small, our children and youth play an important role in our parish life. We enjoy welcoming newcomers and connecting with each other during times of fellowship. Parishioners who participate in Parish Council (Vestry) and other groups, like Worship Committee, take their volunteer roles seriously and are committed to a collaborative approach to church governance and planning.
